After Aamir Khan and Ajay Devgan, Sushmita Sen has decided to make her directorial debut. She is all set to direct h
er dream project Rani Laxmibai , a period film on the life of the queen. Reportedly her friend, scriptwriter turned director Mudassar Aziz will help her in editing the script.
It can be recalled that earlier Sushmita wanted this film to be directed by her ex-boyfriend Manav Menon. But things didn’t work out and Sushmita who is quite eager about this film decided to go behind the camera herself.
When contacted, her spokesperson Krishna Bannerjee was reluctant to talk about the film, “Yes the film will finally roll in early this year.” When quizzed about Sushmita’s directorial debut, she said, “It’s a yes so far. But I can’t talk more on film as we are engaged in a non-disclosure contract. We are going to have an announcement about the film soon.”
However the film will be produced under her own banner called Tantra Entertainment. Mudassar Aziz is helping her in editing the script. But being a director himself, won’t Aziz give her tips on film direction as well? Mudassar replies, “Sushmita is a great friend and I can see a smart and intelligent director in her. She is in fact capable of giving tips to her directors. The kind of suggestions she comes up with are really admiring.”
Being so confident about Sushmita, Mudassar informs that she is competent enough to make her debut behind the camera.
