Krazzy 4 is the story of four patients who are currently admitted in a mental institution.

Starcast: Arshad Warsi, Irrfan Khan, Suresh Menon, Rajpal Yadav, Juhi Chawla, Dia Mirza, Rajat Kapoor.

Director: Jaideep Sen

Krazzy 4 is the story of four patients who are currently admitted in a mental institution. Raja (Arshad Warsi), Dr Mukherji (Irrfan Khan), Gangadhar (Rajpal Yadav) and Daboo (Suresh Menon) suffer from different mental disorders and are currently treated by Dr. Sonali (Juhi Chawla). As a part of their treatment, Dr. Sonali decides to take the four patients for a day out to watch the India – England cricket match.

However, as soon as they step out catastrophe strikes as the doctor is kidnapped leaving the four mental patients to find their way out and rescue their doctor. What happens when they realize that the very people they are turning to for help are the ones behind their doctor’s kidnapping and how they outwit all of them to rescue Dr. Sonali is what Krazzy 4 is all about.

Jaideep Sen’s directorial debut, simply put, is a fun film. It plays on social issues but does it without making it sound like a sermon. The four guys known for their comedy deliver well but Suresh Menon’s character could have been better fleshed out.

Also Dia Mirza’s fascination to play a journalist needs reviewing. And finally the three songs picturised on Rakhi Sawant, SRK and Hrithik Roshan are going to be huge with the audiences! SRK and Hrithik leave you mesmerized with their charm and dance.

All in all Krazzy 4 is a great film to see provided you are looking for a fun day out. It’s light, fun and slightly krazzy4.

The exams are over and vacations are in. But there won’t be any holidays in Bollywood. This precisely is the season which the producers were eagerly awaiting to release their films. Holiday season means more audience and big money. So expect the biggest of films to release in April and May. In fact this year’s first big box-office combat will happen the coming Friday with two big films battling it out simultaneously at the ticket window. It’s Rakesh Roshan’s Krazzy 4 v/s Ajay Devgan’s U Me aur Hum on April 11, 2008. Who stands a better chance of winning? Let’s analyze...

Debutante Directors

Incidentally both Krazzy 4 and U Me aur Hum come from debutante directors. Jaideep Sen has been an assistant to Rakesh Roshan for many years. Ajay Devgan needs no introduction. So both debutantes do not have any earlier credentials on their CV when it comes to their directing abilities. Until the film proves it, Krazzy 4 will essentially sell as a Rakesh Roshan film, while U Me aur Hum will sell on Ajay Devgan, the actor than the director.

Stars v/s Actors

In cast comparison, U Me aur Hum has more star value with Ajay Devgan and Kajol as the lead pair. It’s always a treat to see Kajol onscreen especially after her limited appearances. The last we saw her was in Fanaa, two years back. However, despite being one of the most stable couples from Bollywood in real life, their reel-life chemistry hasn’t really clicked well with the audiences with films like Hulchul, Gundaraj, Dil Kya Kare and Raju Chacha proving to be major disasters. They might be really looking forward for U Me aur Hum to click as the duo will again be seen in animated avatars in Toonpur Ka Superhero later this year.

Krazzy 4, on the other hand, has a more actor-oriented cast. The theme of the film is such that it demanded actors over stars. So Rakesh Roshan chose an unusual combination of wonderful character artists like Arshad Warsi, Irrfan Khan, Rajpal Yadav and Suresh Menon for his film, over the star material at his home in the form of Hrithik Roshan.

Stars might attract audiences to the theatres which actors might not necessarily be able to do. But actors help in sustaining a good film, which at times, even some big stars are not be able to. So each film has one trump card as its own USP.

Comedy v/s Drama

There is an interesting twist of tale here. Rakesh Roshan who is usually associated with ‘high-voltage-drama’ and (Koyla, Karan Arjun, Khudgarz) and love story (Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai), attempts a comedy this time with Krazzy 4.

On the contrary, Ajay Devgan who has been associated with action films and off-lately comedy (Golmaal, Sunday, Golmaal Returns) surprisingly makes his debut with a sublime love story.

Of course the comedy Krazzy 4 will also have some emotional and dramatic moments while U Me aur Hum promises some light-hearted moments. Comedy finds an easy audience if it’s sensibly handled while love story are always in demand in Bollywood. so both films are assured with their own audiences base in Bollywood.

Music v/s Item numbers

In the music department, U Me aur Hum surely scores an extra point as compared to Krazzy 4. Vishal Bharadwaj has scored a melodious album well-worded by lyricist Munna Dhiman.

However though Krazzy 4 is making more noise as far as music is concerned. The film is marketed very smartly. The mediocre tunes are camouflaged behind superstars. Though not as a part of the film, Krazzy 4 promises more star power through its hugely popular item numbers. Rakesh Roshan has chosen the biggest names to promote his film. So you have none other than Shah Rukh Khan endorsing Krazzy 4 and now the trump card is also out in the form of Hrithik Roshan who introduces the 4 characters in the music video. And of course whatever has Rakhi Sawant in it, makes news.

So the game is all set to begin. They say there is enough space for everyone in Bollywood and sufficient audience for individual films. We wish both the films success and may both work well.

You just hit the bull's eye! We are talking about Hrithik's dance in daddy Roshan's upcoming film 'Krazzy 4'. With his contained and sober portrayal of Akbar in 'Jodha Akbar' to the dude-with-a-cool attitude in this item number, Hrithik has proved time and again that he can do any role with equal grace and elegance.

With the pictures being flashed across the sites with Hrithik sporting a red shirt and a cool hat, with number '4' in his had we can just guess what the item song featuring this hero would be like. Simply fireworks. There are also reports suggesting that this particular piece features vrey different dance movements.

King Khan, who has also hit the dance floor for the same song has said that Hrithik would do better justice to the song, and Hrithik on his part has been very touched by the regard that Khan has shown to his father.

Well with both the top heroes of the industry being modesty embodied, now the best we can do is wait patiently till April 11, to watch who has done better justice to the song, Hrithik or King Khan!

Juhi Chawla will be seen in a Rakesh Roshan film again, Krazzy 4, which is scheduled for release April 14.

Her earlier venture with Roshan was in his ill-fated Karobaar in 2000, in which she played Rishi Kapoor's wife who's tempted to spend a night with tycoon Anil Kapoor. The remake of the Robert Redford-Demi Moore film An Indecent Proposal was a fiasco.

"That's because the film got delayed. By the time Karobaar was released, the story was stale. Anyway, Juhi is working with us again," Rakesh Roshan said.

In Krazzy 4, the actress plays a psychiatrist. The film is being directed by Raja Sen.

"Juhi plays a very important role of a psychiatrist. We needed someone mature. While all the guys - Arshad Warsi, Rajpal Yadav, Irrfan Khan and Suresh Menon - are funny, Juhi is very serious," said Rakesh Roshan.

This is Juhi's second role as a shrink in a comedy. She was given the thankless task of curing Govinda's mind in David Dhawan's Deewana Mastana.

Not too many of our leading ladies get to play psychiatrists. Lately, starlet Pinky Harwani starred as a shrink whom the troubled Sammir Dattani was seeing in Vikram Bhatt's Life Mein Kabhi Kabhie.

Almost her entire track was edited out.

As a psychiatrist she knows what's wrong with her patients; as a sensitive woman she firmly believes that if you really want to make them well, you should treat them with your heart, not just your mind.

Arshad Warsi as Raja
Truly the angry young man! His blood boils, his fists clench and he's ready to beat the daylights out of anyone who upsets him in some way.

Irrfan Khan is Dr Mukherjee
He has decided that he's the Captain of the team! But so obsessed is he by the need to be in control of a situation, he doesn't realize he's totally lost control of himself and his mind.

Rajpal Yadav as Gangadhar
He's marching to a beat only he can hear; he's fighting for a cause that's long over. But in his muddled mind he's still fighting for Swaraj; still hobnobbing with the likes of Nehru and Mahatma Gandhi.

Suresh Menon as Dabboo
Cute and adorable, he's everybody's pet and however far gone the rest may be, when it comes to Dabboo, everybody's super protective. Even if he can hear and understand, Dabboo refuses to speak. And nobody knows why!

Dia Mirza as Shikha
As a TV reporter she controls the news on the channel, but as a woman she's unable to control the unruly and unmanageable rage of Raja – the man she loves.

Rajat Kapur as Industrialist R K Sanyal
He is Dr Sonali's husband. But in his quest for power and money he takes a step that will have alarming consequences for his wife and her patients – the krazzy 4!

The year 2008 could well be actor Arshad Warsi's year. He has signed plum films with filmmakers like Anil Kapoor and Rohit Shetty and has just inked a deal with Rakesh Roshan in which he plays a mad man.

"For the first time I get to play this completely deranged character - a full-on mad man. I've never played a character like this. Why just me? I don't think such a character has been done before," Arshad told IANS.

This would be Rakesh's first film without his son Hrithik in the last seven years.

"In fact, Rakeshji has been with this script for more than 10 years," Arshad says.

Too busy and committed to Ashutosh Gowariker's Jodhaa-Akbar and his father's next superhero film, Hrithik has given this assignment the go-by. It's being directed by Rakesh Roshan's assistant Raja Sen.

This is Roshan's first confident move forward in expanding and corporatising his production house into a multi-filmmaking concern like Yash Raj Films. He intends to concentrate on the projects that would star his son Hrithik and hire other directors for other ventures.

Karan Johar also plans to direct one film a year for his own production house and open it to directors from outside.

The superstar will be seen in a completely different get-up in this song, which is currently being picturised at the Yash Raj studios. After all, it will be after years that one will get to see Shah Rukh Khan and Hrithik Roshan dancing together on the big screen. However, Hrithik and his filmmaker dad were sporting enough to make special appearances in 'Om Shanti Om', during awards night scene. Hrithik Roshan appeared along with other stars like Akshay Kumar, Abhishek Bachchan.
