The much-awaited historical JODHAA AKBAR opened to a mixed response on Friday. The film started in the range of 40% + in the morning shows, but shot to 60% - 70% in the noon shows, with the collections improving further [80% - 90%] during the evening shows. This was the trend at multiplexes and also at bigger centres. At smaller centres, however, the collections were in the range of 20% - 30%. Meanwhile, the multiplexes are expected to start screening from Saturday onwards.
The silver lining is, the audience feedback is extremely positive, the overall reviews are excellent and the business is expected to consolidate on Saturday and Sunday… Meanwhile, the film started with a bang in U.K., with the film collecting an impressive £ 57,427 in its paid previews on Thursday night.
