Nandita Das is to be honoured for her valuable contribution to World cinema by the Ordre Des Arts Et Des Lettres, Paris. She has also been asked to pick any French personality for her felicitation.

Nandita informed the media that she was taken off guard by this pleasantly shocking news. She said that Paris reminded her of Kolkata with its cultural heritage and legacy in the arts of their respective countries.

Nandita Das has acted in many movies in various Indian langauges, including Tamil and Malayalam. Shah Rukh Khan was the other Bollywood personality to have received the honour in the beginning of this year.
