Get ready for a sizzling hot number underwater as Bollywood hotties Akshay, Katrina, Zayed, Lara gear up to set the sea on fire!!

Yes you have heard it right; the hot–bods are going under the sea to shoot for the first ever underwater song sequence in Bollywood for their upcoming film BLUE. Directed by Anthony D'Souza BLUE is touted as India's first underwater action–adventure film. First he made the stars of the movie do some stunts underwater. And now he has come up with the idea of shooting a song underwater which no one in the industry has tried it out.

Though in Kunal Kohli's THODA PYAAR THODA MAGIC he had shot a steamy number 'Lazy Lamhe' on Amisha Patel using underwater camera and yesteryears stars Jeetendra and Babita also shot for a similar song sequence in ANMOL MOTI, but that was apparently shot in a swimming pool. If the reports are to be believed than in case of BLUE it will be actually shot under sea which automatically become first of its sort.

Reportedly, Anthony got inspired to shoot underwater song sequence after watching an ad. When Anthony put across the idea in front of the entire team of BLUE they were thrilled by Anthony's extraordinary thought.

Milan Luthria (who last directed Hattrick) is busy with the pre-production of his next film titled Once Upon A Time In Mumbai. For this film, that deals with the origin of the Mafia scene in Mumbai (during the 70's& 80's), Milan has signed Ajay Devgan to play the main lead. Rumors have it that Ajay's character is loosely based on notorious don Haji Mastan who ruled the crime syndicate in Mumbai during that era. He did confirm having signed Ajay for the film but dispelled any notions of his character being based on Haji Mastan. "Ajay is doing my film Once Upon A Time In Mumbai but it would be wrong to say that his character is based on the notorious gangster Haji Mastan. There is a lot of media speculation going on but there is no truth to it. My film basically talks of how the Mafia came into force for the first time in Mumbai. It's a fast paced action thriller which depicts the crime scenario in Mumbai during the 70's and 80's. We have done research in finding out who were the people who ruled the crime syndicate, how did they operate, what was their code of conduct etc. at that time in Mumbai. But let me make it clear that our film is a totally fictional account and is not based on anybody's life."

So who else stars in the film apart from Ajay Devgan? "We are yet to finalize the other actors. There are 3 female leads also but we are still in the process of developing each character before we can go ahead with the complete casting. As for Ajay, he is the best in this genre and hasn't done a film like this in a while. I needed somebody with controlled intensity. Besides Ajay and I have done 2 films together (Chori Chori and Kachche Dhaage). We share a good comfort level. In my last couple of films, I didn't have a suitable role for him. But this time when the opportunity came by, I approached him and am glad that we are working together once again," says the talented filmmaker.

The film is produced by Balaji Motion Pictures along with Popcorn Entertainment and goes on floors in May 2009. Major portions of the film will be shot in Mumbai while some important scenes will be filmed in Vishakhapatnam, Dubai and Bangkok

When Sanjay Gadhvi left his Dhoom and Yashraj days behind, little did he know that one day he would be back in the reckoning with a film that would be vying with the biggest Abhishek Bachchan vehicle ever.

At the time when Dhoom 2 had released, many of those close to Abhishek including filmmakers who were that time working with Abhishek or planning projects with him, felt Abhishek had been given a raw deal in Dhoom 2.

One of them had said, "The film was designed as a Hrithik Roshan vehicle. Abhishek did it only because of his relations with the Chopras and because he didn't want to break the chain of the sequel."

Now when much water has flown under he box-office bridge, Gadhvi has pitched his Kidnap right next to Abhishek's Drona. Gadhvi thinks there's room for both the biggies at the box-office. "We have a four-day weekend starting with Thursday, October 2, when we're both releasing. And then they're two completely different kinds of films. Earlier we've had two films on the same day doing well. Gaddar and Lagaan, for example. Besides it's Eid and a festive time. Everyone releases films on Friday. We're releasing on Dry Day. We were supposed to release in August but were pushed forward."

But before that Gadhvi wants to show the film to his mentor Aditya Chopra. "After the screening for the cast and crew, I'll hold a special show at Yashraj Studios for Yashji and Adi. And as a sign of respect, I also gave the first CD to them. I am what I am because of them. Adi gave me the title and the script rights for Kidnap. I go to the Yashraj office every fortnight have lunch and hang around. They send me CDs of all their films. I'm in touch with Uday and Aditya."

In fact, Minissha Lamba was cast in Yashraj's Bachna Ae Haseenon after she started shooting for Gadhvi's Kidnap. "I was at Yashraj's office once. And Adi asked me how she was. The next thing I knew she was cast in a Yashraj film."

After the release of Kidnap, Gadhvi intends to take a break. "I feel burnt out. I haven't had a break in 19 years. I live with my parents. I've a wife and kids. The children are not brats, fortunately."

Gadhvi's dad is a Gujarati filmmaker. "He has made two Gujarati films both with music by Kalyanji-Anandji. I grew up in their house with Kalyanjibhai's son Viju Shah. We Gadhvis are community of storytellers. I hope I've done a good job of it in Kidnap."

Golmaal Returns, Ajay Devgan,Arshad Warsi,Shreyas Talpade,Tusshar Kapoor,Kareena Kapoor,Anjana Sukhani,Amrita Arora,Celina Jaitley,Sanjay Mishra,Ashwini Kalsekar,Murli Sharma,Vrajesh Hirjee,Preeti Bhutani,Rakhi Vijan,Mukesh Tiwari,
2 years back, Golmaal was just another comedy multi starrer that had hit the screens and turned into a success. Circa 2008 and suddenly one finds its sequel, Golmaal Returns, being elevated to the status of being a potential blockbuster. Reasons are aplenty:

a) The first installment of Golmaal is still afresh in the mind of cine goers and is being appreciated in it's satellite and DVD run.

b) The sequel looks bigger and better with Shree Ashtavinayak Cinevision Ltd, becoming a formidable force in the passage of time. Coming in of Kareena Kapoor, Celina Jaitley, Amrita Arora and Anjana Sukhani has only added to the star quotient of the film.

c) The film is mounted at a much bigger scale, something which is pretty much on display courtesy 'dhamakedaar' promos

d) Director Rohit Shetty now has three successful films to his credit, though at varied degree, in the form of Sunday, Golmaal and Zameen. The young director is truly one of the top 'masala' filmmakers we have today.

e) Last but certainly not the least, past 18 months gone by have truly belonged to Pritam. 2008 has been phenomenal with Race, Singh Is Kinng, Jannat and Kismat Konnection. No wonder, Golmaal Returns is being looked as the next BIG winner for Pritam. With Sameer as the writing partner, Pritam can't really afford to go wrong on this big project.

So does he deliver? Pretty much so! Golmaal Returns has the kind of music which goes as per Shetty's sensibilities of 'action packed score' and Pritam does well in giving a 'Race' feel to the proceedings that ensures that listeners have their hands full of playing one more rip roaring score which is going to blaze on well in fast moving cars, dance floors and pubs. No, don't expect any soothing melodies that Pritam has earlier composed for Jannat or Life... In A Metro. Here he goes holds-no-bar and comes up with a 'dhinchaak' score which is good enough for Shetty to create eye catching visuals that would surely attract audience into the theaters!

Cards are laid out wide open at the very onset with 'Tha Kar Ke' which surprisingly has a newbie composer Ashish Pandit at the helm of affairs. Even though this dance number has a trademark Pritam sound to it with regular Neeraj Shridhar behind the mike, 'Tha Kar Ke' is mainly credited to Ashish Pandit who does a fantastic job in coming up with a chartbuster number that just can't go wrong. Shot on a lavish scale, this 'let's get rocking' song has Anvesha, Aakariti, Earl and Indie providing Neeraj some very good support which keeps his Hit record intact. The number boasts of some lavish arrangements and with a huge orchestra supporting the tune, the 'remix version' turns out to be even funkier and makes you head for that dance floor pronto!

Nostalgia of Vishal-Shekhar's title song 'Golmaal' (sung by Anushka Manchanda) is back with the number 'Vacancy' which uses the punch word 'Golmaal' that is amalgamated well into the tune created by Pritam. The number takes on exactly from where 'Tha Kar Ke' left and sees coming together of English as well as Hindi lyrics. Yet again, the number boasts of a full-on arrangement which leave hardly a pause in the entire 5 minute duration. With Neeraj Shridhar leading the charge yet again, the number (with Sameer, Neeraj Shridhar and Ashish Pandit coming together for the lyrics) also features Benny, Suhail and Suzi Q who keep the racy mood intact for Golmaal Returns and ensures that it would scale up the charts. The 'Kilogram Remix', as the name suggests, is quite a handful and successfully manages to throw its weight!

15 years back, 'Tu Saala' would have been classified as a 'chalu' number. Today, with modern day arrangements and a classy setting, this one would go down as a number which would work well both amongst the college going youngsters as well as the masses. Don't bother too much about the lyrics here, this one again is a 'beats driven' number (expectedly appearing in a remix version too) which sees Anushka Manchanda in a different avtar altogether. Though the rhythm here is predominantly Indian, the arrangements are Western which gives it a different feel. The number won't go as far as 'Tha Kar Ke' and 'Vacancy' but should be an eye candy on screen, courtesy all the hot-bods that Golmaal Returns boasts of.

Monali had impressed one and all in her sensual rendition of 'Touch Me Touch Me' [Race] earlier this year. In Golmaal Returns she returns along with Suzy Q for a song that has been interestingly titled 'Meow'. A naughty number with a sensual touch to it, 'Meow' has quite some attitude to it which would truly appeal to Generation X. With Hindi lyrics by Sameer and Neeraj Shridhar, Ashish Pandit & Indie contributing with English lyrics, 'Meow' is a Hinglish track that has the kind of sound which has almost been patented by Pritam. Though the number does touch upon dark shades as well, it primarily remains a little quirky and is catchy enough to warrant two more versions - a full on 'English version' and a 'remix version'. One looks forward to see how the 'English version' fits into the narrative since it has quite some interesting lyrics to boast of!

To bring back the nostalgia of the Golmaal, there is also a pleasant surprise in the form of an entire soundtrack by Vishal-Shekhar from the original which is included as a part of the package.

Golmaal Returns is yet another winner from Pritam and guest composer Ashish Pandit who delivers what is expected from a soundtrack for a film belonging to action-comedy genre. No one attempts to do anything exceptional or different from routine and walk the path that has been successful in the months gone by. The music may not go the 'Race' way but does well enough to ensure immense awareness about the film due to its fast paced approach.

Producer: Shrishti Arya, Sunil Lulla
Director: Goldie Behl
Cast: Abhishek Bachchan, Kay Kay Menon, Priyanka Chopra
Music: Dhruv Ghanekar
Singers : Roop Kumar Rathod, Sunidhi Chauhan, Dhruv Ghanekar, Shaan, Sadhna Sargam

An unconventional film about a superhero with Abhishek Bachchan in the lead, 'Drona' is Goldie Behl's second venture. Here the director has attempted to be different with not only the theme of his movie but also with the music.

Dhruv Ghanekar, a relatively less known but experienced Musician composed seven unconventional tracks for the album. They may not have a long shelf life but are worth hearing just for the music director's innovation.

The title track is interesting and has an international touch to it. Composed and rendered by Ghanekar, 'Drona' fits in completely as a theme sing - its lyrics cater to the theme and it comprises a lot of effects.

The track is belted out for the second time as 'Drona Redux' where Sunidhi Chauhan joins in for the rendition. Apart from the addition of club sounds, this piece is also fairly situational.

'Oop Cha' is a number that is already doing the rounds on the small screen. A peppy and fun dance track, this number is sure to get many people on the dance floor. Sunidhi Chauhan, who excels in songs of this genre, renders this piece along with Nandini Shrikar. The lyrics are quite average. The 'Oop Cha (Fare Play Mix)' is not a bad deal either.

A decent track comes in the form of 'Bandagi', a ghazal-like number by Roop Kumar Rathod and Sunidhi Chauhan. Though an unlikely pair, the duo support each other well with their vocals. A soft, romantic piece written by Vaibhav Modi, 'Bandagi' may not end up being a chartbuster but will surely find quite a few takers.

A typical lullaby by Sadhna Sargam comes next. 'Nanhe Nanhe' revolves around a mother-son relationship, but the addition of a number of sounds doesn't go well with the lullaby. While the rendition is good, the music could have been a little mellowed down.

A jazz number by Shaan follows. It isn't overtly musical but could be worth looking forward to in the movie. Shaan, one can say, sounds better singing typical Bollywood hits - something he is great at. Not much can be said about the track as an audio piece and one would have to look at how well it blends with the movie.

'Drona' offers music rarely heard in Bollywood. At a time where every movie tries to be different with its music, 'Drona' also succeeds in its endeavour. But it may not be an out-and-out chartbuster as the tracks are mostly situational and would sound better as part of the film.

Producer: Atul Agnihotri
Director: Atul Agnihotri
Cast: Amrita Arora, Gul Panag, Isha Kopikar, Katrina Kaif, Salman Khan, Sohail Khan
Music: Sajid Wajid, Salim-Sulaiman

Singer: Wajid, Shafaqat Amanat Ali Khan, Herchelle, Ishq Bector, Merlin, Suz Q, Tim, Daler Mehndi, Sunidhi Chauhan, Sadhna Sargam, Shaan, Sonu Nigam, Zubin

‘Hello’ is another unconventional film based on the call center backdrop. In important cast are Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif in special appearance, Sohail Khan, Sharman Joshi, Isha Koppikar, Gul Panag, Amrita Arora, Arbaaz Khan and others. The film is produced and directed by Atul Agnihotri. Doing the music is Sajid-Wajid along with lyricist Jalees Sherwani.

The title track 'Hello' begins in the voice of Suzy Q with music coming from Sajid-Wajid, Ishq Bector, Herchelle, Merlin and Tim. This groovy number will soon turn to be a must have for the lounge crowd. There is a 'Party Mix' that elevated the effect of the track further.

Next to follow is ‘Rab Ka Banda' rendered by Sonu Nigam, Zubin and Sunidhi Chauhan. This situational track is a mix of Sufi and Western sound. This philosophical theme based song fails to impress.

Follows the quintessential bhangra number 'Karle Baby Dance Wance'. This is a passable number with nothing novel to offer. Daler Mehendi stays rooted to his routinous style with Sunidhi Chauhan ably supporting him.

Wajid comes to face the mike with 'Bang Bang Bang'. The track carried a concert feel but it cannot rise being average. Though the song is on air with Salman Khan in highlight, it doesn’t look to be his next probable hit.

'Mitwa Re' has a romantic feel and is rendered in the voice of Shaan and Sadhana Sargam. Another formulaic track that sticks to its basic without trying to offer anything new. But this romantic melody is likeable.

'Caravan' is the last track of the album. Shafqat Amanat Ali Khan delivers this track of 6 minutes. But that doesn’t make it a hummable track. It is an old fashioned song also lapped with sad feel. It isn’t the kind of song that would make one look forward to it.

Though the film treads an unconventional route the same cannot be said about its music. This Sajid-Wajid soundtrack fails to make itself among the hits. There are a few songs that make for a good hearing however they are not must-hear.

Drona
http://images.bollywoodhungama.com/posters/movies/07/drona/still1.jpg
The players: Abhishek Bachchan, Priyanka Chopra, Kay Kay Menon, Jaya Bachchan

The maker: Goldie Behl

The plot: Somewhere in the land of myth, magic and mystery a regular guy (Bachchan) comes to terms with his super hero status which involves battling the spiteful, power-hungry baddie (Menon) with a cool sword in hand and feisty she-bodyguard (Chopra) in tow.

Pros: After Krrish, maybe the audience is ready to place their bets on the zardozi-clad knight with extraordinary powers. Abhishek does possess the requisite intensity and presence to pull this off. Besides, there's this chemistry thing between him and Priyanka, which as witnessed in Bluffmaster, works very well.

Cons: The promos make Drona seem like a compilation of a zillion Hollywood fantasy flicks.

Release date: October 2.

Kidnap

The players: Sanjay Dutt, Imran Khan, Minissha Lamba, Vidya Malvade.

The maker: Sanjay Gadhvi

The plot: Boy meets girl gets a twist. Hot guy (Khan) holds hot girl (Lamba) hostage. Next, he sets up a series of tasks for her estranged billionaire papa (Dutt) to perform, before the latter can come to her rescue.

Pros: Imran Khan is a fine actor and has aroused considerable curiosity among audiences with his unusual choice of second film. Also, Kidnap is a refreshing break for its director Sanjay Gadhvi after the mindless yet profitable Dhoom movies.

Cons: Gadhvi does have a soft corner for style over substance.
